Create Role

Use the Create Role dialog to define new application roles for WebCenter Portal.

Application roles determine what users can see and do in the Home Portal and control access to WebCenter Portal administration pages. More

Element Description

Role Name

Enter a suitable name for the role. Role names can contain alphanumeric characters, blank spaces, and underscores.

Ensure that the role names are self-descriptive. Make it as obvious as possible which users should belong to which roles.

Role Template

Choose a permission template for the new role. The new role inherits permissions from the template role which you can modify later.

All existing roles are offered as templates.

Choose Administrator to create a role that inherits full administrative privileges. Conversely, choose Public-User to create a role starting with minimal, read-only privileges. Alternatively, choose a custom application role to be your template.
