To Complete the Installation

1. Replace the system cover and reconnect the AC power cords, if required, as described in the system documentation.
2. If you needed to turn the system power off to install the HBA, power on the system.

   Note:

   If you do need to return power to the system, ensure that the power is turned on to the SAS devices before or at the same time that the power is turned on to the host system. If the system is powered up before these devices, the devices might not be recognized.
3. If you need to install an operating system (OS) on your system, complete the procedures in Creating a Bootable Drive in a Preboot Environment and then go to the next step.
4. If you already have an OS installed on an x86 system, do the following:
   1. Go to the Oracle support area of the Broadcom web site (Oracle Downloads) and download the StorCLI utility, along with supporting documentation.
   2. Install the StorCLI utility on the system that will manage your storage.
   3. From the StorCLI utility, create logical drives for the HBA.
5. Consider the following, based on your system environment configuration:
   1. If you are using the Oracle Solaris OS, the installation is complete. You can obtain the latest SRUs for the Oracle Solaris OS at: My Oracle Support
   2. If you are using the Windows operating system, install the Windows HBA driver (seeHBA Software Installation).
   3. For all other operating systems, the installation is complete.
