2 Updating the Host Operating System

Important:

The software described in this documentation is either in Extended Support or Sustaining Support. See Oracle Open Source Support Policies for more information.

We recommend that you upgrade the software described by this documentation as soon as possible.

If you want to update the host operating system on the nodes in your Oracle Cloud Native Environment, you must disable the Oracle Cloud Native Environment software package repositories when you perform the update. This avoids updates to the Oracle Cloud Native Environment software packages during the operating system update process.

For example, if you are using the Oracle Linux yum server for system updates, update the host operating system using:

Oracle Linux 8:

sudo dnf update --disablerepo ol8_olcne15

Oracle Linux 7:

sudo yum update --disablerepo ol7_olcne15
