2 Updating the Host OS

WARNING:

Oracle Cloud Native Environment 1.9 is now in Sustaining Support. See Oracle Open Source Support Policies for more information. New security patches and bug fixes are no longer provided for this software.

Migrate applications and data to Oracle Cloud Native Environment Release 2.<latest> as soon as possible.

To update the host OS on the nodes in an Oracle Cloud Native Environment, you must disable the Oracle Cloud Native Environment software package repositories when you perform the update. This avoids updates to the Oracle Cloud Native Environment software packages during the OS update process.

For example, if you're using the Oracle Linux yum server for system updates on Oracle Linux 9, update the host OS using:

sudo dnf update --disablerepo ol9_olcne19

If you're using Oracle Linux 8, use:

sudo dnf update --disablerepo ol8_olcne19
