Subscribe to ULN Channels
If a system is subscribed to ULN and you want to use either of the Oracle KVM Stacks, the
ol8_<arch>_kvm_appstream
ULN channel must be enabled before installing the chosen virtualization application stream module. Note:
A ULN channel subscription isn't required when installing the Default KVM Stack. The Default KVM Stack is available as an application stream module in the standard ULN channels on an Oracle Linux 8 system.What Do You Need?
- A registered ULN Oracle Linux 8 server. For details on how to register an Oracle server with ULN, see Oracle Linux: Managing Software on Oracle Linux.
- Ensure that the system meets the virtualization package requirements for the KVM application stream module that you're installing. See KVM Repositories and Channels: Yum and ULN.
- Ensure that either UEK R6 or UEK R7 is installed and running on the system.
- ULN username and password.
Steps
To subscribe to ULN channels, follow these steps:
- Sign in to https://linux.oracle.com with your ULN username and password.
- On the Systems tab, from the list of registered systems, select the link name for the specified system.
- On the System Details page, select Manage Subscriptions.
- On the System Summary page, select the required
ol8_<arch>_kvm_appstream
channel from the Available Channels list, then click the right-arrow to move selected channels to the Subscribed Channels list. - Click Save Subscriptions.
