The following identity management features are deprecated in Oracle Linux 8.

OpenSSH LDAP

The openssh-ldap subpackage is deprecated in favor of SSSD and the sss_ssh_authorizedkeys helper on Oracle Linux 8.

DES and 3DES

The Data Encryption Standard (DES) algorithm was deprecated and disabled by default in Oracle Linux 7. Single-DES (DES) and triple-DES (3DES) encryption types are removed in Oracle Linux 8.

SSSD libwbclient

The SSSD implementation of the libwbclient package is deprecated and has been removed.

Standalone ctdb

Standalone use of the ctdb clustered Samba service is deprecated. You can continue to use this service as a Pacemaker resource with the ctdb resource agent.

Samba NT4-style Domain Controllers

Use of Samba configured as either a Primary Domain Controller (PDC) or Backup Domain Controller (BDC) in an NT3-style domain is deprecated. Oracle doesn't support using Samba as an AD domain controller.

SMB1

The insecure Server Message Block version 1 (SMB1) protocol is deprecated. To improve security, SMB1 is disabled in the Samba server and client utilities.
