Errors Related to Host Watchdog State

The errors shown in the following table occur when the host watchdog state is affected by the state of the IPMI watchdog timer. The error message is shown, followed by the reason for the message, and a solution to the problem.

IPMI watchdog timer is enabled outside of Hardware Management Pack.	Admin state : Disable Current state: Enable	The host watchdog has been disabled by the user, but the IPMI watchdog timer is enabled outside of Hardware Management Pack. While in this state (Admin state is Disable and Current State is Enable) if you enable host watchdog, host watchdog will remain in Disable state.	In order to enable hostwatchdog, IPMI watchdog timer needs to be turned off with the following command: ipmitool mc watchdog off
IPMI watchdog timer is enabled outside of Hardware Management Pack.	Admin state : Enable Current state: Enable	First, the Admin state is Enable and the user uses ipmitool to disable the IPMI watchdog timer, then the user uses ipmitool to enable IPMI watchdog timer.	After the duration of the reset period (default is 60 seconds), the host watchdog automatically corrects the situation.
IPMI watchdog timer is disabled outside of Hardware Management Pack.	Admin state : Enable Current state: Disable	The IPMI watchdog timer is disabled outside of Hardware Management Pack while the host watchdog is in Enabled state.	After the reset period (default is 60 seconds), the host watchdog corrects this and re-enable the timer.
Need to have Oracle ILOM 3.2.2 or greater.	Varies	Oracle ILOM must be version 3.2.2 or greater to run host watchdog.	Do one of the following: Disable host watchdog with this command: ilomconfig disable host watchdog Upgrade Oracle ILOM to 3.2.3. or greater, then run one of the following commands: /etc/init.d/hmp_watchdog reload or service hmp_watchdog reload
IPMI command failed connection. Check IPMI driver.	Varies	Failure sending IPMI request to SP.	Check the IPMI driver on the host side.
IPMI watchdog command failed.	Varies	IPMI watchdog command got to the SP, but encountered failure.	Make sure the IPMI stack is working properly on Oracle ILOM.
Can not determine Oracle ILOM version.	Varies	Host watchdog is unable to determine the Oracle ILOM version.	Issue some IPMI commands to the SP to see if the IPMI commands work on the SP.
