How to Restart the SNMP Daemon

  1. After configuring snmpd.conf, restart the SNMP daemon using the appropriate command:

    • For Linux, type:

      # /sbin/service snmpd restart

    • For Oracle Solaris, do one of the following:

      On Oracle Solaris 10 OS, type:

      # /usr/sbin/svcadm restart sma

      On Oracle Solaris 11 OS, type:

      # /usr/sbin/svcadm restart net-snmp
