Locating a Server
When a problem is detected on a server, you can use the Locator button and indicator to identify the server that needs service attention at its physical location.
Turn the Locator Indicator On and Off (Oracle ILOM)
When a server must be serviced, lighting the system Locator indicator assists in easily identifying the correct server. You do not need administrator permissions to use the set /System locator_indicator
commands. After service of a server is completed, you can turn off the Locator indicator.
You also can turn on or off the Locator indicator by physically pressing the Locator button on the server.

To turn the Locator indicator on or off from the Oracle ILOM web
interface):
- Log in to the Oracle ILOM web interface.
- On the Oracle ILOM Summary Information page, in the Actions section, for Locator Indicator, click Turn On or Turn Off.

To turn the Locator indicator on or off from the Oracle ILOM command-line
interface (CLI):
- Log in to the Oracle ILOM CLI.
- To illuminate the Locate indicator, type set /System locator_indicator=on.
- To turn off the Locate indicator, type set /System locator_indicator=off.
