Gigabit Ethernet Ports
The Oracle Exadata Storage Server X9-2 supports a base configuration with the following Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) networking ports:
-
Network (NET) 100/1000BASE-T RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) port: NET 0
-
Interface Card (NIC) with two quad (4-channel) small form-factor pluggable (QSFP) ports (PORT 1 and PORT 2)
As a supplement to the base configuration GbE ports, the Oracle Exadata Storage Server X9-2 also supports a factory configuration with a combination of two additional PCIe networking cards. The following table lists the supported factory PCIe card combinations and their Ethernet port transfer rates.
Table 22-1 Table that lists the supported factory PCIe card combinations and their Ethernet port transfer rates
Supported PCIe Card Combination | Ethernet Port Transfer Rate |
---|---|
Two Oracle Quad Port 10GBase-T Adapters |
Eight RJ-45 port connectors, 10GBASE-T |
Two Oracle Dual Port 25 GB Ethernet Adapters |
Four small form-factor pluggable (SFP+) port connectors, 10/25Gbe |
One Oracle Quad Port 10GBase-T Adapter and one Oracle Dual Port 25 GB Ethernet Adapter |
Four RJ-45 port connectors, 10GBASE-T and two SFP+ port connectors, 10/25Gbe |
For additional networking capabilities, Oracle Support can add a third PCIe card (Oracle Quad Port 10GBase-T Adapter or Oracle Dual Port 25 GB Ethernet Adapter).
Note:
Adding a third PCIe card to the server can only be done in the field by Oracle Support. This is not a factory configuration.
