Intel Socket Option Description

Processor Configuration

     Enable Intel(R) TXT

Enable or disable (default) Intel Trusted Execution Technology (TXT), which ensures that an installed OS is verified and considered secure.

     VMX

Enable (default) or disable VMX.

     Enable SMX

Enable SMX. Disable is the default.

     Hyper-Threading (ALL)

Enable (default) or disable Hyper Threading. When enabled, two threads are available per enabled core. When disabled, only one thread per enabled core is available.

     Extended APIC

Enable or disable (default) extended APIC.

     Limit CPU PA to 46 Bits

Enable (default) or disable limiting the CPU PA to 46 bits.

Common RefCode Configuration

     NUMA

Enable (default) or disable non-uniform memory access (NUMA) for faster memory access, where memory is local to the processor and not controlled by a different processor.

     Total Memory Encryption (TME)

Enable or disable (default) total memory encryption (TME).

     UMA-Based Clustering

Disable (All2All), Hemisphere (2-clusters (default)

     Mirror Mode

Enable or disable (default) Mirror mode.

     Durability Domain

Memory Controller (default), CPU Cache Hierarchy

     CPU Flex Ratio Override

Enable or disable (default) CPU flex ratio override.

     CPU Core Flex Ratio

Default ratio is 0.

     Publish SRAT

Enable (default) or disable publishing SRAT.

     Attempt Fast Boot

Enable (default) or disable attempting a fast boot.

     Attempt Fast Cold Boot

Enable (default) or disable attempting a fast cold boot.

IIO Configuration

     Intel VT for Directed I/O (VT-d)

Intel Virtualization Technology for directed I/O (VT-d) reports the I/O device assignment to VMM through DMA remapping reporting (DMAR) Advance Configuration Power Interface (ACPI) tables. Yes (default) or No.

     Intel VMD technology

Enable or disable (default) Intel Volume Management Device for sockets and IOUs.

     EV DFX Features

Enable to expose IIO DFX or other CPU devices such as PMON, or disable (default).

     PCIe Max Read Request Size

Set the maximum read request size in Endpoints to Auto (default), 128B, 256B, 512B, 1024B, 2048B, or 4096B.

Memory Configuration

     NGN Configuration

Enable or disable (default) the Next Generation Network factory settings.

     Volatile Memory Mode

Select whether 1LM or 2LM memory mode must be enabled for Persistent Memory modules (PMeMs).

     Memory Frequency

Specify the maximum memory frequency as Auto (default), or select a value in MHz based on DIMM support.

     Turnaround Time Optimization PMEM

Enable (default) or disable the turnaround time for optimizing PMeM.

     Multi-Threaded MRC

Enable (default) or disable multi-threaded Memory Reference Code.

     Secure Erase DIMMs

Enable or disable (default) securely erasing the persistent memory region of all PMeM in the system.

     200 Series PMEM Average Power Limit (in Mw)

Specify the power limit used for average power in milliwatts (Mw). Starts from 10000 Mw in increments of 250 mw. Default is 15000 Mw.

Advanced Power Management Configuration

     CPU P State Control

Enable (default) or disable Turbo Mode, and set the boot performance for BIOS before handoff to the operating system to Max Performance (default), Max Efficient, or Set by Intel Node Manager.

Note: When you enable Turbo Mode, you also must enable Enhanced Multi Threaded Thermal Monitoring (EMTTM).

     Package C State Control

Specify the Package C-State to C0/C1 state, C2 state, C6 (non Retention) state, Auto (default)

     Turbo Ratio Limit <X>

Specify the turbo ratio limit MSR 0x1AD for 0-7 limits. Default is 0.

     Turbo Ratio Cores <Y>

Specify the number of cores for the turbo ratio MSR 0x1AE for 0-7 cores. Default is FF.
