This image shows applications, databases, components, and services deployed in two Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) regions, each with a single availability domain and three fault domains. Each region has a private subnet for shared services in a compartment with a hub VCN.
The deployment in OCI Prod (IAD) region includes 9 compartments, each with a single virtual cloud network (VCN). The deployment in OCI Prod (PHX) region includes 5 compartments, each with a single virtual cloud network (VCN).
- Compartment 1, Production VCN, has a load balancer in a public subnet and Istore-Apps in each fault domain in a private subnet.
- Compartment 2, Production VCN, has two private subnets. ERBP database systems are in fault domain 1 and fault domain 2 in a private subnet and OBIEE database systems are in fault domain 1 and fault domain 2 in a second private subnet.
- Compartment 3, Production VCN, has three private subnets. A load balancer is located in the first subnet, ERP applications are in all three fault domains in the second subnet, and OBIEE applications in the third private subnet.
- Compartment 4, Production VCN, has two private subnets. Jump servers are located in the first subnet, and domain servers are located in the second subnet.
- Compartments and VCNs 5-7 are for development and QA, and are identical to compartments 1, 2,and 3 in the production environment.
- Compartment and VCN 8 contains file storage. Compartment 8 doesn't have fault domains.
- A Shared Services Compartment and Hub VCN, with a single private subnets, is located in the availability domain.
- Compartment 1, Production VCN, has a load balancer in a public subnet and Istore-Apps in each fault domain in a private subnet.
- Compartment 2, Production VCN, has one private subnet. ERBP database systems are in fault domain 1 and fault domain 2.
- Compartment 3, Production VCN, has three private subnets. A load balancer is located in the first subnet, ERP applications are in all three fault domains in the second subnet, and OBIEE applications in all three domains in the third private subnet.
- Compartment and VCN 4 contains file storage. Compartment 4 doesn't have fault domains.
- A Shared Services Compartment and Hub VCN, with a single private subnets, is located in the availability domain.
Local peering gateways provide 2-way flow of data between each compartment and the Shared Services Compartment in each region. Remote peering uses a dynamic routing gateway (DRG) to connect the availability domains between regions.
The regions are connected with Web application firewalls (WAF), Oracle FastConnect, IPSEC VPN, and a remote peering gateway. In Region IAD, Compartment 1 and Compartments 5-7 have an internet gateway that uses WAF. In Region PHX, Compartment 1 has an internet gateway that uses WAF.
Data is shared between the Shared Services Compartments in each region, through the BIAS Data Center, using a DRG, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure FastConnect, and IPSEC VPN.
