This architecture shows a decentralized platform where each domain is a
subset of the overall data platform and where each domain is
isolated from the others and can choose the technologies and
services used.
The following components apply to the entire Oracle Cloud
Infrastructure (OCI) region:
- Governance: Includes Data Governance (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Data Catalog)
- Infrastructure, Network Security, Identity and
Access Management (IAM): Includes Data Security (Oracle Data Safe, OCI Audit, OCI Logging, OCI Vault)
The region is divided into functional layers that house
physical or functional components that can vary depending on the
data domain:
- Domain A - Customer (Source Aligned)
- Data Sources layer: Data sources include
customer relationship management (CRM) and
customer website data, and customer documents and
contracts. Metadata from the the CRM and customer
website is harvested into Data Catalog.
- Connect, Ingest, Transform layer: OCI Data Integration handles data and passes it to a domain-specific
instance of Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse. Customer documents and contracts bypass
the ingest phase and are stored directly in the
OCI Object Storage data lake.
- Persist, Curate, Create layer: Autonomous Data
Warehouse accepts incoming data. OCI Data Integration or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Data Flow provides additional processing of data from Autonomous Data
Warehouse. The database stores data in the OCI Object Storage data lake. Metadata is harvested and stored in
Data Catalog. Customer profile data is shared with Autonomous Data
Warehouse in the marketing domain (D).
- Analyze, Learn, Predict layer: Data from Autonomous Data
Warehouse and OCI Object Storage is processed by Oracle
Analytics Cloud and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Generative AI and provided to end users (Measure, Act layer).
- Domain B - Finance (Source Aligned)
- Data Sources layer: Data sources include core
banking system statements and receipts. Metadata
from the core banking system is harvested and
stored in Data Catalog.
- Connect, Ingest, Transform layer: OCI GoldenGate handles data and passes it to a domain-specific
instance of Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse.
- Persist, Curate, Create layer: Autonomous Data
Warehouse accepts incoming data. Autonomous Data
Warehouse Data Transforms provide additional processing
of data from Autonomous Data
Warehouse. The database stores data in the OCI Object Storage data lake. Metadata is harvested and stored in
Data Catalog. Augmented financial transaction data is shared
with Autonomous Data
Warehouse in the risk domain (C).
- Analyze, Learn, Predict layer: Finance data is
not handled in this layer.
- Measure, Act layer: Finance data is not passed
on to end users.
- Domain C - Risk (Aggregated)
- Data Sources layer: Data sources include a
third-party data provider.
- Connect, Ingest, Transform layer: Third-party
data bypasses the ingest phase and feeds directly
into Autonomous Data
Warehouse.
- Persist, Curate, Create layer: Autonomous Data
Warehouse accepts incoming economic and macroeconomic
data and shares risk propensity data with Autonomous Data
Warehouse in the marketing domain (D). Metadata is
harvested and stored in Data Catalog.
- Analyze, Learn, Predict layer: Data from Autonomous Data
Warehouse is processed by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Data Science and provided to end users (Measure, Act layer).
- Domain D - Marketing (Consumer Aligned)
- Data Sources layer: Data sources include
third-party marketing execution partner.
- Connect, Ingest, Transform layer: Partner data
bypasses the ingest phase and feeds directly into
Autonomous Data
Warehouse.
- Persist, Curate, Create layer: Autonomous Data
Warehouse accepts incoming data. Autonomous Data
Warehouse Data Transforms provide additional processing
of data from Autonomous Data
Warehouse. The database stores data in the OCI Object Storage data lake. Metadata is harvested and stored in
Data Catalog.
- Analyze, Learn, Predict layer: Data from Autonomous Data
Warehouse and OCI Object Storage is processed by Oracle
Analytics Cloud and Oracle Machine Learning. Oracle Machine Learning also provides OCI API Gateway access.
- Measure, Act layer: Campaign segments are
shared with third-party marketing execution
partners. End users view results in Oracle
Analytics Cloud and Oracle Machine Learning. Applications access results by using OCI API Gateway.
