The image shows an AWS region next to an OCI region. The AWS region is
comprised of an availability zone, which contains an application VPC and an
ODB
network.
- The application VPC contains two subnets: App-A subnet and App-B
subnet. Each of these subnets host applications.
- The ODB network spans both the AWS and OCI regions and
contains an Oracle Database@AWS child site, which remains within the ODB network. Within the child
site is a VCN, which spans both the AWS and OCI regions and contains both a
client and a backup subnet. These subnets span both the AWS and OCI regions. The
client subnet contains an instance of Oracle Exadata Database
Service which spans both the client and backup subnet. Access to both subnets is
controlled by a routing table and a Network Security Group (NSG).
Traffic flows bidirectionally between the application VPC and
ODB network.
The OCI region contains a control plane, an instance of OCI Vault, and an instance of OCI Object Storage.
