This image shows an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure region with a single availability domain and two fault domains. It also shows a virtual cloud network (VCN) with three regional subnets arranged as functional tiers.
-
Load Balancing Tier (regional public subnet): A load balancer resides in each of the fault domains and together they manage traffic to the WebLogic Server Tier. An internet gateway provides a public connection.
-
WebLogic Server (WLS) Tier (regional public subnet): The WebLogic Domain spans both fault domains. The WLS Admin Server resides in fault domain 1. A managed server with applications and resources resides in each of the fault domains and handles traffic to and from the Database Tier. Each fault domain in the WLS tier has access to its own virtual machines and block storage.
-
Database Tier (regional private subnet): Fault domain 1 houses the database system that services the WLS managed servers.
