• Automation

  Automation can help you improve your RTO and RPO goals. It ensures consistency and minimizes human errors during your disaster recovery (DR) process. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure provides several SDKs and a CLI to help you develop automation scripts. In addition, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure provides a Terraform provider to support provisioning and rebuilding your entire cloud environment through Terraform templates.

• Failure Detection

  Your DR plan must include a reliable and timely way to detect failures in the cloud environment. You must be able to monitor the health of the applications. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure provides a service health dashboard that shows the health of the services. You can subscribe to service health events to get updates on the health of the services.

• Testing

  To ensure the success of your DR plan, you must conduct DR testing periodically. Testing can help you to find any gaps in the DR plan and assess the effectiveness of the plan. To minimize the effect of testing on your applications, choose the testing time window carefully, and be prepared to restore to the normal state quickly if a failure occurs during the testing.
