This image shows two regions, each with one availability domain. Backup object storage is provided in each region. Each region has a similar infrastructure. The regions are connected by dynamic routing gateways. Data Guard connects the Exadata database systems in each region using remote peering gateways.
Each region contains a single virtual cloud network (VCN) configured with four regional private subnets and the following gateways:
Within each region, a VCN provides the following subnets arranged as functional tiers:
Regional Private Subnet A: A load balancer manages traffic from end users to a Web Server cluster located in Subnet B.
Regional Private Subnets B: A Web Server cluster receives traffic from the load balancer and manages traffic to an Application Server cluster connected to the Exadata database system that spans subnets C and D.
Regional Private Subnets C and D: Exadata database systems span subnets C and D for client and backup traffic. Oracle Data Guard is used for data synchronization and failover.
