This image shows how data flows from one region to another to enable a failover scenario. It includes a primary cloud region, a backup cloud region, and an on-site user who is outside those regions.
Data flows from the on-site user to the primary cloud region. Inside that region, data goes into the cloud application, which stores it in an Oracle database. The Oracle database uses storage policies to write data to file storage, which is then copied to object storage.
The object storage in the primary region is replicated to the backup region through a secure connection.
In a failover scenario, the replicated objects in the backup region are used to populate the file storage and to restore the database. This enables the cloud application to populate with the latest data, and provide failover services directly to the user.
