This image shows global traffic steering across a stretched cluster on Oracle Cloud
Infrastructure (OCI) using Domain Name System (DNS) based policies and regional load balancers.
The architecture has the following components:
- Connectivity and DNS traffic steering
- Clients send DNS queries for frontend.example.com.
- OCI DNS with Traffic Management Policies evaluates policies and
returns an address (111.111.111.111 or 222.222.222.222 in this
example).
- Clients connect to Oracle Cloud
Infrastructure Load Balancer in the selected region using the returned address.
- Region 1
- Web tier Subnet: OCI Load
Balancer fronts WEBHOST1 and WEBHOST2; published address 111.111.111.111.
- Region 2
- Web tier Subnet: OCI Load
Balancer fronts WEBHOST3 and WEBHOST4; published address 222.222.222.222.
