This image shows an HR system and the hire-rehire cycle of an employee. The HR system does the following when a new employee joins an organization:

  1. Identity Creation: Provisions the new hire's Identity and default entitlements.
  2. Profile Enrichment: The employee requests additional entitlements based on their organization and role.
  3. Entitlement Management: Throughout employment the employee can add or remove entitlements and manage what entitlements they have.
  4. Authentication/Authorization: The HR system provides authentication and authorization for the employee's identity throughout their employment.
  5. Retire/Deprovisioning: When the employee leaves the organization, the HR system retires their identity and deprovisions all entitlements.
  6. Rehire: If the same employee is rehired in future, the HR system can reassign the same identity to them.

The cycle of provisioning entitlements throughout their employment is similar to any employee at this point.
