This image shows a multicloud architecture featuring Oracle Cloud
Infrastructure (OCI), Microsoft Azure, a third-party cloud with financial systems, and the internet used by Gas South customers. The data
flow through the architecture is documented in the surrounding text.
Microsoft Azure provides a self-service portal for customers, an SQL database, and Microsoft Business Intelligence.
The OCI region has 1 availability domain and 1 VCN. The region has access to Oracle Utilities Customer Cloud Service (CCS)
and its generalized data export (GDE). The region provides the following services:
- Oracle Cloud
Infrastructure Backup and Restore
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Events
- Oracle Integration Cloud
Service
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
Monitoring
- Oracle Cloud
Infrastructure Object Storage
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Vault
The VCN provides the following gateways:
- Internet gateway: Provides communications between public subnets and internet hosts. In this architecture, it handles the
communication traffic between OCI and the financial systems cloud.
- Service gateway: VCNs communicate with services such as object storage over the Oracle network fabric without traversing the
internet.
- Dynamic routing gateway (DRG): Provides private connectivity between on-premises networks and VCNs by using Site-to-Site
VPN or FastConnect. In this architecture, the DRG handles the communication traffic between OCI and Azure, which is connected
by site-to-site VPN.
The VCN provides the following subnets:
- Load balancer public subnet: Provides load balancing for SOA integration traffic from the financial cloud and from Microsoft
Business Intelligence and passes it to SOA managed servers in the SOA subnet.
- SOA private subnet: Provides Oracle SOA Cloud
Service Marketplace with a managed file transfer (MFT) cluster, business activity monitoring (BAM), and SOA with service bus (SB)
and business-to-business (B2B) clusters. Data from the managed servers is stored in a database in the database subnet.
- Data private subnet: Provides Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Data
Integration and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
Functions instances.
- Database private subnet: Provides a Oracle Base Database Service instances for SOA data.
