This image shows the logical flow of data between three sites: an on-premises site, a third party cloud site, and an OCI region.

The on-premises site is a source site, and contains ZDM instance and two separate applications. Similarly, the third party cloud site is a source site, and contains a ZDM instance and two separate applications.

The OCI region is the target site, and contains three logical zones: a ZConverter zone where ZDM is deployed, an immutable backup repository where backups are stored, and a restore and recover zone where new setups are created.

In the first flow, both applications from the on-premises site are backed up by the on-premises ZDM instance (ZDM1-A), which is paired with another ZDM instance (ZDM2-A) in the ZConverter zone in OCI. The backup image is stored in the repository zone in OCI, and those backups are used to create new setups in the restore and recover zone in OCI.

In the second flow, both applications from the third party cloud site are backed up by the cloud ZDM instance (ZDM3-B), which is paired with another ZDM instance (ZDM4-B) in the ZConverter zone in OCI. The backup image is stored in the repository zone in OCI, and those backups are used to create new setups in the restore and recover zone in OCI.
