This image shows network connectivity setup between an On-Premises Region and an OCI region within a Metro Area. The on-premises region contains customer premises equipment with IP address 10.16.0.0/16. The customer premises equipment connects to the Oracle Cloud using two methods: by FastConnect and by VPN over the internet.
FastConnect has two separate virtual circuits. Each virtual circuit connects the customer premises equipment to two physical devices at the FastConnect location, which are then mapped to two logical devices. The logical devices connect to the DRG on the VCN within the OCI region.
The VPN has two VPN tunnels that travel through the internet, connecting from the customer premises to two VPN headends inside the OCI region. The VPN headends also connect to the DRG using dashed arrows. Within the OCI region, the DRG routes all incoming connections to a VCN with IP address 172.16.0.0/24.
