This diagram shows the movement of data at a conceptual level. The image is divided into three layers: Understand, Manage, and Exploit.

In the Understand layer, an arrow labeled Events and Data that is connected to the Manage layer enters a block labeled Discovery and Science. An arrow labeled Context and Information emerges from the block and connects to the Manage layer.

In the Manage layer, there are three primary blocks: Event Engine, Application Data, and Analytical Platform which houses icons for Data Refinery, Raw Data and Curated Data and Information.
  • Event Engine: A monodirectional arrow labeled Streams enters the event engine from a source outside the image. A bidirectional arrow labeled Events connects the event engine to the application data block and a monodirectional arrow connects the event engine to the data refinery in the analytical platform block.

  • Application Data: A monodirectional arrow labeled Interactions connects the application data block to the analytical platform block. A monodirectional arrow labeled Actionable Information connects the application data block to the Exploit layer.

  • Analytical Platform: A monodirectional arrow labeled Actionable Insights connects the analytical platform block to the Exploit layer.
