This image shows an OCI Region with VCN and Oracle Services Network.

A Virtual Cloud Network (VCN) with address range 10.0.0.0/16 is defined, connected using a Dynamic Routing Gateway (DRG). A DRG route table is configured so that all traffic destined for the VCN address range stays within the local network.

Within the VCN, there is a Backup subnet with address range 10.0.2.0/24 and Oracle Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure at IP address 10.0.2.33 inside the Backup subnet. This database communicates through a route table to a Private Endpoint (PE) at IP address 10.0.2.253.

The security list allows traffic on two ports from the VCN network:

The Private Endpoint enables secure connections to two Oracle services such as Oracle Database Zero Data Loss Autonomous Recovery Service and Oracle Analytics Cloud.
