This image shows a primary and standby topology across two availability domains in a single Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) region. The region also includes identity and access management, policies, domain name service (DNS), backup and restore, and object storage for the region accessed through the Oracle Services Network.

The region provides 3 virtual cloud networks (VCN) configured similarly for both of the availability domains. The VCNs communicate by using local peering gateways.

  • The Transit VCN provides an internet gateway, a dynamic routing gateway (DRG), and 2 subnets, each with their own route table and security list.

A public subnet provides a proxy server and a firewall in each availability domain. The internet gateway provides communication with devices and vehicles on the Internet and with integrations such a wireless cars, entertainment providers, and local dealerships. A private load balancer handles firewall traffic from the internet. The DRG handles traffic from the customer premises network including enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), and business intelligence/data warehousing (BI/DW).

A private subnet provides a SOA managed file transfer (MFT) node and 4 business-to-customer (B2C) servers in each of the availability domains.

  • The Internal VCN provides a single private subnet with a route table and security list. The subnet provides 4 SOA Oracle Service Bus (OSB) nodes, a business-to-business (B2B) server, instances of the SOA MFT and SOA OSB Database Cloud Service, a file server, and a telematics database in each of the availability domains. The telematics database in availability domain 1 is the primary database and the telematics database instance in availability domain 2 is the standby database. The databases are synchronized using Data Guard.
  • The Utility VCN provides a single private subnet with a route table and security list. The subnet provides instances of Oracle Inventory Manager, Oracle Enterprise Manager, SIEM appliance, and Jump Box in each of the availability domains.
