This image shows an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure region that provides object storage for the region. The region includes a single availability domain. The availability domain includes a virtual cloud network (VCN) with four regional subnets. The VCN includes an internet gateway for user connections to the bastion subnet.
The regional subnets are arranged as functional layers:
-
Bastion subnet (regional public subnet A): A bastion server manages traffic to the private subnets. Two load balancers handle traffic to the VDI and license proxy servers in the VDI Server subnet.
-
VDI Server subnet (regional private subnet B): This subnet contains a series of VDI and License Proxy servers. The VDI servers accesses storage in the Storage and Computing subnet. Together, the VDI and License Proxy servers leverage a high-performance computing (HPC) cluster that spans the Storage and Computing and the Performance Computing subnets.
-
Storage and Computing subnet (regional private subnet C): File storage is used by the VDI servers and HPC cluster to store and retrieve calculation results.
-
Performance Computing subnet (regional private subnet D - 100Gbps/RDMA): The subnet provides 100Gbps/RDMA performance for the HPC cluster.
