This image shows an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure region with a single availability domain. The region provides the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Registry, an internet gateway, and a virtual cloud network (VCN) with a service gateway, two regional public subnets, and three regional private subnets. The subnets are arranged by function:
-
Bastion Tier (regional public subnet): A bastion server manages traffic to the Administrative Host and WebLogic Tiers. An internet gateway provides a public connection.
-
Administrative Host Tier (regional private subnet): An administrative host manages the following areas in the other private subnets:
- The Oracle WebLogic Server for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Container Engine for Kubernetes (OKE) cluster
- Logs for the Oracle WebLogic Server domain
- Jenkins home configuration
- Helper scripts to manage your domain
- The file storage service
-
Oracle WebLogic Server for OKE Tier (regional private subnet): The Kubernetes cluster includes a private load balancer that provides access to two node pools:
- Non-WebLogic node pool:
- A pod running the Jenkins controller
- A pod running an Nginx ingress controller
- A pod running WebLogic Kubernetes Operator
- WebLogic node pool:
- A pod running the domain's administration server
- A pod running each managed server in the domain
- A pod running the Jenkins agent
- A pod running the WebLogic Domain Introspector
- Non-WebLogic node pool:
-
Load Balancing Tier (regional public subnet): An public load balancer provides access to the Oracle WebLogic Server cluster. An internet gateway provides a public connection.
-
Storage Tier (regional private subnet): Provides a file storage service shared across pods. The tier also provides storage for logs, helper scripts, and the Jenkins home.
