This figure shows firewall security implemented on both the ACSLS client-side (SSI) and server side (CSI) without portmapper. The figure shows the Client and Server sides, separated by a firewall.

The Client side includes SSI, with unrestricted source ports.

The Server side includes the CSI, which includes one static port.

In network failure instances, the CSI can query the SSI for the registered port.
