Behavior of an Unavailable Fibre Channel Port
The FC Port 2 of the library controller is initially unavailable and only supported a limited set of commands until you activate it with a hardware activation file.
The library controller comes standard with two FC ports (1 and 2). By default only port 1 is fully active (available). Port 2 is unavailable until you install the Redundant Control Paths (multi-port) hardware activation file.
The library can receive commands on an unavailable port. However, the unavailable port only fully supports Inquiry
, Report LUNs
, Report Target Port Groups
, and Request Sense
. For all other commands, the library terminates the command with Check Condition
status and sets the sense key to Not Ready, Logical Unit Not Accessible, Target Port in Unavailable State
.
