Media Labels
The library identifies cartridges by the barcode label attached to the front of the cartridge. Each label must follow specific guidelines to be read by the library.
The library identifies individual cartridges using ANSI standard, code 39 barcode labels that are attached to the front of the tape cartridge. The label has both alphanumeric characters and a machine-readable barcode. The following sections describe labeling standards and tape cartridge types.
