Moving a Filesystem, LUN, or Object Store to a Different Project (CLI)

Filesystem, LUNs, or Object Stores within a project inherit the properties of the project.

If file retention is set, review section File Retention Management. You can move a retained filesystem to a different project. Note that mandatory file retention affects the filesystem, project, and storage pool. Carefully plan mandatory usage so that storage resources, especially pools and their associated drives, are not consumed for longer than necessary or overfilled.

Go to shares and select the project that contains the filesystem, LUN, or Object Store to be moved.
In this example, the default project contains the filesystem, LUN, or Object Store to be moved.

hostname> shares
hostname:shares> select default
```
Enter move, the name of the filesystem, LUN, or Object Store to be moved, and the name of the project to which to move it.
```
hostname:shares default> move foo home
```
