About synonym lists
A synonym is a word or phrase that is equivalent to the classification-level term associated with a code in a coding dictionary. Synonyms can exist only in a synonym list. A synonym list is a group of synonyms that are associated with terms in the same dictionary. Dictionary managers and administrators can manage synonym lists.
Each coding definition specifies the synonym list that the autocoding algorithm uses to find a code match for a verbatim. For more information, see Coding definition management.
