About stopword lists

A stopword is a word in a verbatim that can be discarded during autocoding because it does not add significant clinical meaning to the verbatim. Stopwords can only exist in a stopword list. A stopword list is a group of stopwords that are associated with terms from different dictionaries through a coding definition. Dictionary managers and administrators can manage stopword lists. A stopword list can be used with any dictionary other than a Japanese dictionary.

Each coding definition specifies the stopword list that the autocoding algorithm uses to remove stopwords from a verbatim. For more information, see Coding definition management.
