About assignment rules
An assignment rule is a set of criteria that defines how incoming coding requests are routed in the Central Coding application. You can use assignment rules in conjunction with coding definitions and work teams to control the request-processing workflow.
Assignment rules control:
- Whether the Central Coding application attempts to autocode an incoming request.
- How the Central Coding application handles approvals and reviews and returns deliveries to the source application.
- Which work team the Central Coding application assigns to a request.
- Which coding definition the Central Coding application associates with a rule.
- Whether the Central Coding application deletes coding requests after delivery.
