Deployment with an in-place revision change fails

You might have requested an in-place revision for a study version that doesn't exist in the target deployment instance. In this case, Central Designer ignores the request, and the in-place revision change is not completed for the study version that does not exist. A warning appears in the deployment package, but the deployment fails.

This can occur when you copy an IPR Configuration from one deployment instance to another. You can only copy an IPR Configuration from one deployment instance to another if the source and target deployment instances do not use the same study version number and contain the same path information for the study object on which you made an in-place revision change.

You must manually ensure that this criteria is met, as the Central Designer application does not validate this information before you copy the IPR Configuration.
