Manage the CRF Submit environment
You manage the CRF Submit servers from the CRF Submit Admin Tool that is installed on the Server Manager computer.
To open CRF Submit Admin, go to http://<Server_Manager_Host_Name>/crfsadmintool and log in as a user with access to the Server Manager computer.
Under Manage, select Server Managers.
- To enable an inactive server and make it the active Server Manager, select it and click Start. The current active Server Manager becomes inactive.
- To remove an inactive Server Manager from the CRF Submit database, select it and click Unregister.
- To stop or start a Server Manager, select it and click Stop or Start depending on its current state.
- To configure how a Server Manager works with a Connector, Storage, or DocGen server, click Edit in the row of the server and edit the values for the following:
- Req queue—Number of concurrent requests that the Server Manager processes. Must be greater than 0.
- File Queue—Number of files processed per request. Must be greater than 0.
- Poll Time—Interval in seconds at which the Server Manager polls the server. Must be greater than 30.
Configure the Connector, DocGen, and Storage Servers
Under Manage, select Connector Servers, Storage Servers, or DocGen Servers.
- To set the number of concurrent tasks that a server processes, click Edit in the row of the server, edit the value for Requests and save. The value must be greater than 0.
- To stop or start a server, select it and click Stop or Start depending on its current state. Stopping the server prevents the Server Manager from assigning new tasks to it.
To prevent requests from getting stuck in the Processing state, Oracle recommends always keeping at least one server of each type running.
Configure SMTP settings for sending email notifications
- Under Manage, select Settings.
- In the SMTP section, enter the following information, and then click Update:
- Host Address—Host name of the SMTP server used for sending request notifications.
- Port—Port used by the SMTP server. Default is 25.
- User Account and Password/Confirm Password—Credentials used to authenticate with the SMTP server. Optional.
- Sender—Email address from which to send request notifications.
- To test the settings, enter an address where to send a test email in the Test Recipient field, and then click Test SMTP Setting.
Configure the file storage location for CRF Submit output
- Under Manage, select Settings.
- In the Base Storage section, enter the following information, and then click Update.
- Network Folder Path—Complete path to the network location where to store the files generated by CRF Submit. A separate subfolder is created for each sponsor you add.
- Username and Password/Confirm Password—Credentials for a user with rights to save files in the network folder.
You must configure the network storage location after you install the Server Manager. If you perform this procedure to update the location, CRF Submit does not copy the output that was created in the previous location to the new location.
- Under Manage, select Sponsors.
- In the Sponsors field, enter the name of a sponsor, then click Add Sponsor and OK to confirm.
A subfolder with the sponsor name is created in the network storage folder. The files for the trials you add for this sponsor will be saved in this subfolder.
Note: You cannot delete a sponsor or edit the sponsor name after the sponsor is created.
Configure the URLs for help links in the CRF Submit user interface
By default, the help links in the CRF Submit user interface point to the product documentation set and videos on the Oracle Help Center. Oracle recommends using the default help URLs.
To change where the links point to:
- Under Manage, select Settings.
- Edit the links in the Help URL section, and then click Update.
- Under Manage, select Settings.
- In the Trial section:
- To set the maximum number of simultaneous requests that can be assigned to a Connector Server for each trial, enter a value in the Global Throttling field and click Update Global Throttling. The value must be greater than 0. A higher value increases the load on the InForm database.
This setting applies to all trials, but you can set different values per trial.
- To configure throttling for an individual trial, select the trial from the list and click Edit Trial Config. Enter a value that is not greater than the global throttling value.
The value you enter overrides the global value if the option Give priority to InForm is selected for the trial in CRF Submit. Oracle recommends configuring this setting when you generate requests with a large amount of subject data.
- To clear cached study metadata on the trial server for one or more trials, select the trials and click Clear Cache.
- To clear cached study metadata on the trial server and refresh the read-only database schema for one or more trials, select the trials and click Refresh Trial. It is recommended to perform this task after a study update.
- To set the maximum number of simultaneous requests that can be assigned to a Connector Server for each trial, enter a value in the Global Throttling field and click Update Global Throttling. The value must be greater than 0. A higher value increases the load on the InForm database.
- To view detailed statistics about requests, under Reports, select Statistics.
On the Request Statistics page, you can sort, search, or filter the data that is displayed in a table.
- To view errors logged in the database by the CRF Submit servers, under Reports, select Errors.
On the Errors page, you can open an advanced search by clicking Search at the top of the page.
