How to use this document
This document contains the procedures that guide you through both the installation and upgrade processes.
You can upgrade from release 7.3, 8.0, 8.1, 8.1.0.1 or 8.1.0.2 to release 8.1.1 of the Empirica Signal software.
The following chapters apply to new installations of Empirica Signal 8.1.1 and to upgrades from Empirica Signal 8.0.x to Empirica Signal 8.1.1:
- Preparing the application server.
- Configuring database credentials.
- Setting up the Empirica Signal software.
- Deploying the Empirica Signal application.
- Post-installation configuration.
Sections that are installation-specific or upgrade-specific are labeled as such. Procedures without installation-specific or upgrade-specific labels are applicable to all upgrades and installations.
If you are upgrading from release 8.1, 8.1.0.1, or 8.1.0.2 to release 8.1.1, proceed to Upgrading from release 8.1, 8.1.0.1, or 8.1.0.2 to 8.1.1. Sections that are needed for upgrades from 8.1 or 8.1.0.1 and not needed for upgrades from 8.1.0.2 are labeled as such. Procedures without version-specific labels are applicable to upgrades from 8.1, 8.1.0.1, or 8.1.0.2.
