Copying a data configuration

You can create a data configuration by copying an existing data configuration and editing the copy as necessary.

1.         Click Settings.

The Settings page appears.

2.         In the Configure System section, click Manage Configurations.

The Manage Configurations page appears.

3.         Click the row menu (Row menu) for the configuration, and then click Edit.

The Modify Configuration page appears

4.         Click Copy this Configuration.

The Add Configuration page appears.

5.         In the Name field, supply a unique name for the new data configuration. (The default name is Copy of, followed by the name of the original data configuration).

6.         In the Description field, modify the supplied description as needed to describe the new data configuration.

7.         In the Configuration Table Name field, enter the unique name of the table to hold the new data configuration in the Oracle account to which you are connected.

8.         Click Save.

The data configuration is saved and the Modify Configuration page appears.

9.         Edit the data configuration, as necessary. During editing, you can specify a link to a third-party application, assign the data configuration to a database group, and assign permissions to the configuration. (These attributes are not copied with the data configuration.)

10.      You must assign permissions before other users can access the data configuration. Before assigning permissions, you might want to validate the data configuration and test it by using it for activities such as data mining.

11.      Validate the data configuration.
