Publishing objects

Publication of an object, such as a data mining run or report output, is a way to make it available to other users. By default, the publication level of every newly created object is Private.

Note: Users without the Administer Users permission can publish only objects they have created. Users with the Administer Users permission can publish objects that they or any users in their login group created.

To publish an individual object:

1.         Select the row menu (Row menu) for the object, and then click Publish.

The Publish <object> page appears and includes publication status information such as the run, who owns it, and the publication level.

Note: If no publication status appears, the object has been published to a different login group than yours by a superuser.

2.         If you are a superuser, you can publish an object to multiple login groups. In the Publish to Login Groups drop-down list, click or Ctrl+click to select login groups.

If you publish to –All– and later add a new login group, the object is published automatically to the new login group.

3.         Click Publish.

The object is published to all of the users who are in your login group.

4.         To remove publication for a login group, click Remove for it.

5.         If the Publication Level is Public, you can click Make Private to make it private, and vice versa.

To publish multiple objects:

Certain types of objects, including report definitions and outputs, allow selection of multiple rows.

The objects are published to other users who are in your login group.

Note: If you are a superuser, you can publish objects to multiple login groups. Select the objects, then click Publish. Click or Ctrl+click to select login groups, then click Publish.

You cannot remove publication for multiple objects at the same time. To remove publication, do so for the individual objects as described above.
