This document contains the procedures that guide you through both the installation and upgrade processes.

The following chapters apply exclusively to new installations of Empirica Signal 8.1.1.1:

You can upgrade from release 7.3, 8.0, 8.1, 8.1.0.1, 8.1.0.2, or 8.1.1 to release 8.1.1.1 of the Empirica Signal software.

If you are running a release that is earlier than release 7.3, you must upgrade to release 7.3 before upgrading. For information on upgrading to release 7.3, see the Installation and Upgrade Instructions for release 7.3.

If you are upgrading from release 7.3, or if you are upgrading from release 8.0.x, 8.1.0.x, or 8.1.1, and want to change to WebLogic 12.2:

Note that there may be small variations in the user interface controls due to your using a newer version of the Web Logic Server.
