Preserve custom home pages, images, and reference documents from a previous release

Perform these steps using the non-privileged user account on the application server.

Perform these steps to preserve any customizations you made to your previous version, and to copy reference documents from previous releases.

  1. Copy any relevant reference documents from the previous installation location to the new installation location. For example, copy the reference documents from:

    /u01/stage/Signal_Install/Signal_8_1_1/relnotes

    to the following location:

    /u01/stage/Signal_Install/Signal/relnotes

Note: You do not need to copy the following documents:

Release Notes for data releases that are no longer on your server.

    – MedDRA documents for releases that are no longer on your server.

Release Notes for prior releases of the Empirica Signal software.

User Guide and Online Help for prior releases in .pdf.

    – Logistic Regression in Empirica Signal 7.1 .pdf document.

  2. Copy any custom content, such as custom home pages, from the backup location to the installation location. For example, copy your file from the following location:

    /u01/stage/Signal_Install/Signal_8_1_1/customhomes

    to the following location:

    /u01/stage/Signal_Install/Signal/customhomes

  3. Copy any custom images from the backup location to the installation location. For example, copy your file from the following location:

    /u01/stage/Signal_Install/Signal_8_1_1/image

    to the following location:

    /u01/stage/Signal_Install/Signal/image
