Overview of upgrading and migrating to this release
You can perform a new installation of the InForm 6.2.1.1 software, or you can upgrade and migrate to the InForm 6.2.1.1 software from a previous version of the InForm software.
To perform a new installation, see the Installation Guide.
To upgrade or migrate to this release, perform the following steps, as needed:
- Upgrade the database environment—Use to upgrade to the Oracle 12c database software.
For more information, see Upgrading the database environment.
- Migrate the InForm studies—InForm 6.2.1.1 supports the following migration paths.
- You can perform an in-place upgrade from InForm 6.2.
For more information, see Running an in-place upgrade.
- You can migrate to this release from any InForm 5.5, 6.0.1, or 6.1.1 release.
For more information, see Migrating InForm studies to a new machine.
- You can perform an in-place upgrade from InForm 6.2.
- Migrate the InForm Portal software—Use to migrate the InForm Portal software to the InForm 6.2.1.1 release.
For more information, see Upgrading and migrating the InForm Portal software.
- Migrate the reporting environment (Optional)—Use to migrate your reporting environment to the InForm 6.2.1.1 release for any InForm 5.5, 6.0.1, or 6.1.1 studies using a series of scripts.
This step is required only if you are using the Reporting and Analysis module.
