Starting the InForm Publisher service
Start the InForm Publisher service after performing the initial installation and configuration. When updating the configuration, stop the InForm Publisher service before performing the update, and restart the service after the update is complete.
- On the InForm application server where the InForm Publisher module is installed, click Start > Administrative Tools > Services.
- Select the InForm Publisher Service, and click Start.
If the InForm Publisher service encounters an error, error messages are written to the Event Log. Error messages could occur in the following situations:
- The InFormPublisher.config file refers to a study that does not exist in the InForm application.
- If you attempt to start the InForm Publisher service before starting the InForm service after you reboot a server, an error occurs indicating that the dependency service or group failed to start. When this occurs, start the InForm Publisher service again.
To prevent this error, when you reboot a server, always start the InForm service before you start the InForm Publisher service.
- The configuration XML file was manually modified and is not well-formed.
- The endpoint URL is in an invalid format in the configuration XML file.
- One of the configuration XML file attributes has an invalid value or a value that is outside of its minimum or maximum boundary.
