Supported Microsoft Windows platforms:

2008 R2 Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition with Service Pack 1 (64-bit).

Note: The InForm 6.1.1.2 Cognos 10 BI Server application server was validated using the Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition.

Reporting

Cognos 10 BI Server 10.2.2 64-bit with the following Fix Packs, Interim Fixes, and Hotsites:

  • up_bisrvr_winx64h_10.2.6100.1032_ml.tar.gz (Hotsite 1)
  • up_bisrvr_winx64h_10.2.6100.1037_ml.tar.gz (Hotsite 2)
  • up_bisrvr_winx64h_10.2.6101.79_ml.tar.gz (Fix Pack 1)
  • up_bisrvr_winx64h_10.2.6102.502_ml.tar.gz (Interim Fix 6)
  • up_bisrvr_winx64h_10.2.6104.1072_ml.tar.gz (Hotsite 3)

    Cognos requires the following Oracle JDBC driver:

  • ojdbc6.jar

    The OJDBC driver is a requirement for the Cognos Report Server and the Cognos Content Manager.

LDAP

Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition 11g. Release 1 (11.1.1.7.2).

Note: The Oracle Directory Server can be installed on either the Microsoft Windows or the Linux operating system. For more information, see the Oracle website, the Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition documentation, or your Oracle database documentation.

Database client
(32-bit)

Supported Oracle versions:

Oracle 12c database servers: 12.1.0.2

Oracle 11g database servers: 11.2.0.4.

For details on required components and patchsets, see Oracle client component and patch requirements for the InForm application server.

The Oracle database client is a requirement for the Cognos Report Server and the Cognos Content Manager.

Note: The Cognos 10 BI Server application server was validated using Oracle Enterprise Edition 12.1.0.2 and Oracle Enterprise Edition 11.2.0.4.

Other
  • .NET 4.6

    .NET is a requirement for the Cognos Report Server and the Cognos Content Manager.

    Note: You must install .NET 4.6 before you install the database client.

  • Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (64-bit).

    Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable is a requirement for the Cognos Gateway Server.

  • Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (32-bit).

    Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable is a requirement for the Report Server and Content Manager only if you are using the Oracle 12c database client.

  • IIS 7.5

    IIS is a requirement for the Cognos Gateway Server.

    If you configure IIS to use HTTPS, disable SSL and enable TLS 1.1 or higher.

  • ASP

    ASP is a requirement for the Cognos Gateway Server.

  • MSXML 6.0 SP3

    MSXML is a requirement for the Cognos Gateway Server.

  • Java Runtime Environment 7 (JRE 1.7 winx64)

    Note: The Cognos 10 BI Server application server was validated using Oracle Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.7.0_80.

Note: Because the Cognos 10 BI Server application server requires the 32-bit Oracle database client, you cannot install all the InForm software components on a single development server. For information about supported deployment options, see the Installation Guide.
