Creating a calculation

  1. On the report palette, click a column heading.
  2. Optionally, select additional column headings by clicking them while holding down the Shift key.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • From the Edit Data menu, click Calculate.
    • From the toolbar, click the Calculate (Calculate button. Click to add a calculation to a report.) button.
    • Right-click a highlighted column heading, and select Calculate.
  4. Complete the Calculate page:
    1. Select the operations.
    2. Select from other calculation parameters.
    3. Optionally, apply a new item name to the calculation.
  5. To add the calculation to the ad hoc report, click Insert.

Note: When you select more than one column upon which to base a calculation, you can only select columns that contain the same type of data (numeric, string, date/time).
