Overview of upgrading and migrating to this release
You can perform a new installation of the InForm 6.1.1.5 software, or you can upgrade and migrate to the InForm 6.1.1.5 software from a previous version of the InForm software.
To perform a new installation, see the Installation Guide.
To perform an upgrade and migration, perform the following steps, as needed:
- Upgrade the database environment—Use to upgrade to the Oracle 11g or the Oracle 12c database software.
For more information, see Upgrading the database environment.
- Migrate the InForm studies—Use to upgrade from the InForm 4.6 SP2 release or later, or from any InForm 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, or 6.1 release using a series of scripts.
Note: Oracle does not support migration to the InForm 6.1.1.5 release.
- Upgrade the InForm studies—For InForm 6.1.1.0, 6.1.1.1, 6.1.1.2, 6.1.1.3, and 6.1.1.4 releases, you can perform an in-place upgrade.
Note: Oracle does not support an in-place upgrade for any InForm 4.6, 5.0, 5.5, or 6.0 release, or for any 6.1 release before 6.1.1.0 (6.1, 6.1.0.1, 6.1.0.2, or 6.1.0.3).

- Migrate the InForm Portal software—Use to upgrade or migrate the InForm Portal software to the InForm 6.1.1.5 release.

- Upgrade the reporting environment (Optional)—Use to upgrade your reporting environment for any InForm 4.6 SP2 studies or later, or for any InForm 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, or 6.1 studies using a series of scripts.
This step is required only if you are using the Reporting and Analysis module.
