Using Identities with Database Tools

Identity allows you to access OCI resources using an OCI Resource Principal from within any database cloud service offered by Oracle, such as Oracle Base Database Service and Oracle Autonomous Database (ADB).

This lets you, for example, invoke the Document Generator pre-built function from Oracle APEX or manage data in Object Storage with the DBMS_CLOUD package.

It supports different OCI Resource Principals for different schemas for all database cloud service offered by Oracle. It promotes the principal of least privilege by reducing the requirement to share database credentials across schemas.
