Preface

The Javatrademark Device Test Suite Administration Guide supplements the information provided in the Java Device Test Suite administrator harness online help. It primarily provides a product overview and installation instructions. Administrator topics not covered in the Guide are covered in the online help.

How This Book Is Organized

Chapter 1 gives a high-level description of the Java Device Test Suite from an administrator’s point of view.

Chapter 2 describes system requirements, how to install the Java Device Test Suite Central Installation and Relay, how to launch the administrator edition of the harness, and how to install the optional Proxy. For tester harness installation instructions, see the Java Device Test Suite Tester’s Guide.

Chapter 3 describes how to make a command line installation, for example, in a script.

Chapter 4 describes test device requirements and options for connecting them to harnesses so test bundles and results can be transmitted.

Chapter 5 describes how to update a Central Installation.

Chapter 6 describes how to obtain and install the latest Sun exclude list.

Appendix A describes how to uninstall the Java Device Test Suite Central Installation and the Relay.

Appendix B describes how to uninstall the Sun Java System Application Server.

Appendix C describes how to modify HTTP response headers if necessary to prevent test bundle caching.
