This figure shows the Financial Reporting single instance architecture, including the Reporting Services, Scheduler Service, and Printing Service.
Components are represented as boxes organized into five different levels. Arrows from the boxes cross the barrier between levels to indicate the connection between components. The five levels are Client, Web Access, Services, Data Access, and Data Storage.
The Client tier contains four boxes.
The first box from the left is colored light blue. It is split into the following two parts: Hyperion Reports Client and Client JAVA API (Internal). A light blue arrow from these two boxes crosses the divide between the Client and Web Access tiers and points at a large light blue box labeled Server JAVA API (Internal) in the Services tier.
The second box is colored brown and labeled Web Browser. It has a brown arrow that points at a brown box labeled Application Server/JSP Engine in the Web Access tier.
The third box is split into two sections. The top brown section is labeled MS Office. The bottom dark blue section is labeled SmartView. A brown arrow points from these combined sections to the brown box labeled Application Server/JSP Engine in the Web Access tier.
The fourth box is split into two sections. The top brown section is labeled ESS Server (Fusion Domain). The bottom light blue section is labeled FREssClient. A light blue arrow points from this box to a light blue box labeled WebServices API for Job Execution in the Web Access tier.
The Web Access tier contains four boxes. Three of them are stacked on top of each other.
The standalone box is colored light blue and labeled WebServices API for Job Execution. It has a light blue arrow connecting it to the light blue Server JAVA API (Internal) box in the Services tier.
The stacked boxes include the following:
The top brown box is labeled Application Server/JSP Engine.
The middle light blue box is labeled Web LII Components JSP, JS.
The bottom box touches the divide between the Web Access and Services tiers and is labeled Client Java API (Internal).
The Services tier is dominated by a large Server JAVA API (Internal) box that is colored light blue and contains two subsections. The two subsections are Reporting Services (RMI Objects embedded in Web Application) and Scheduler Service.
Four light blue arrows point out of the Reporting Services subsection, and one light blue arrow points out of the Scheduler Service subsection. The first light blue arrow from the left points at a light blue box labeled Printing Services. The next two arrows point at boxes in the Data Access tier. The last two arrows cross through the Data Access tier and point at disks in the Data Storage tier.
The Data Access tier has four boxes.
The first from the left is a dark blue box labeled APS/Essbase API. A light blue arrow points to it from the Reporting Services box in the Services tier, and a white arrow points from it to a dark blue box labeled Essbase in the Data Storage tier.
The next two boxes are stacked on top of each other. The top box is light blue and has a light blue arrow pointing to it from the Reporting Services box in the Services tier. The bottom box is dark blue, labeled OBIEE Repository (WebCat), and a white arrow points from it to a disk labeled WebCat Storage in the Data Storage tier.
The last box is light blue and labeled JDBC. Light blue arrows from the Reporting Services and Scheduler Service boxes in the Services tier cross through it.
The Data Storage tier contains one box and three discs.
The box and the first disc from the left are the Essbase and WebCat Storage mentioned above.
The next disc is labeled HIT Registry, Annotation Tables, and FR Scheduler Tables. The light blue arrow from Reporting Services in the Services tier that passes through JDBC in Data Access terminates here.
The last disc is called ESS Job Information and Storage. The light blue arrow from the Scheduler Service box in the Services tier that passes through JDBC in Data Access terminates here.
